Lepus
Lepus was built by W. J. Yarwood and Sons of Northwich in 1935 for the star
class fleet of the Grand Union Canal Carrying Company as an unpowered butty
boat, originally towed by a motor boat.
In recent years Lepus has been chopped in two to form two boats, one section
with the original bow section and is now named Lead-Us, the stern end was used
to form the bow of this boat and still carries its original name of Lepus. At
this stage Lepus has a motor stern added and a cabin conversion added.
Lepus arrived at Sheetstores in August 2010 for P. J. Barber Boatbuilder Ltd to
put Lepus back to 70ft in length and add a steel cabin under the cloths at the
bow of her for extra accomodation.
